Pray About Everything
"Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all manner of prayer and request; To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all saints (God's consecrated people)."—Ephesians 6:18
The more we try to do things on our own—without asking God to get involved, the more complicated life will be. We need His blessing on everything we do and the way to get it is to PRAY. First, we should pray about whether or not we should even be doing what we are about to do; and if we are, we need to depend on God to help us do it. All too often, we just decide we want to do something and then we wonder why it is such a struggle. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith, but He is not obligated to finish anything He did not start. Jesus said He did nothing independent of His Father (John 5:30), and we should follow His example.
God's grace is His ability that comes to us free of charge. It helps us do what we could never do on our own without any struggle or human effort. Whether we're attempting a new diet, going on an exercise program, making a career change, getting married, or taking on anything else, we must remember to PRAY about it. We are partners with God in life, so let's not forget our partner's help because we fail to ask Him for it. James said, "You have not because you ask not." (James 4:2) Ask for God's help and watch Him answer.
Let's Pray - Father God, we pray in Jesus name that you will lead and guide our tongues, that we will think before we speak, that we will begin to pray about everything, that you will keep our tongue from evil and our lips from speaking deceit, that we will hear your instruction and be wise, and do not refuse or neglect it. Help us to understand that we may be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry, that we will be faithful and not fearful, because your word says that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of a sound mind (of power and of love and of peace, a well–balanced mind, discipline, and self-control.) Thank you, Father, for giving us "Power to resist the Devil" by using the Word of God.
Have a great day and an even better tomorrow.
